Beginning Birding at Battle Creek Park

Come and learn about birding, including how to use binoculars and a field guide. St. Paul Audubon is collaborating with the  St. Paul Library  and the Urban Birding Collective to offer this beginning birding field trip.

DIRECTIONS     From McKnight Rd turn east onto Upper Afton Rd., drive 0.2 mi, turn right, destination will be on the right. Meet at the parking lot next to the off-leash dog park. 44.940752, -93.001840

INFORMATION      Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Bring a brimmed hat, water, sunblock and bug dope. Loaner binoculars will be available.

REGISTRATION     Required registration and limited to 15 participants. [Registration link available on SPAS website after June 1]

DIFFICULTY     Approximately 0.7-1 mile on paved and maintained grass surfaces with small gradual hills. Porta Potty is available at dog park. Restrooms available at Park Pavilion across Upper Afton Road.
